A trip to Atlantic City has always been a yearly tradition in the summer for my family and I. Switching between Resorts Casino & Hotel and Tropicana Atlantic City every year, we would always have a fun and memorable weekend together.
My cousin, sister, and I would spend most of our time walking on the boardwalk, swimming in the pool, or just fooling around in the room when we were younger, while our grandma and family gambled in the casino (almost) all day. This year, because of the coronavirus pandemic, we had delayed our trip, but it actually worked out perfectly because, instead, we went in September, just in time to celebrate my cousins 21st birthday.
Going on this trip, I was so happy to see that all the casinos, hotels, and restaurants, that I went to at least, were doing very well with implementing and enforcing their new safety and health measures, like limiting their capacity, requiring face masks to be worn at all times, taking temperature checks for anyone that enters the building, and enforcing social distancing whenever possible. Clubs, of course, were still closed, but overall, we were able to make the most of the weekend and had plenty of fun things to do.
Friday night, we had a yummy dinner at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, with some beautifully-crafted cocktails, steaks cooked to perfection, and a generous amount of dessert. Afterwards, we went to the casino in the hotel and then hit our beds not too long after because we were so tired from the ride there after work.
We started off the next morning with some brunch, and mimosas of course, at Breadsticks Cafe And Grill, in Resorts Casino & Hotel, and relaxed the whole afternoon, after a nice walk on the boardwalk. Later in the day, we had planned on going to Landshark Bar & Grill on the boardwalk for dinner, right across from our hotel, but the wait was too long and we were starving, so we then tried Margaritaville, also in our hotel, but it had the same wait time, SO THEN we made our way to Breadsticks Cafe And Grill again, and enjoyed a delicious dinner, starting off with a GIANT hot pretzel, perfected with some margaritas and amaretto sours.
To keep the night going, we hit the boardwalk and went to The Wheel on Steel Pier.
Upon arriving at the Ferris Wheel, located above the pier, we were amazed by the view...and the bar! Hidden next to the wheel, that stands 227 feet high, holding up to six people in each gondola, is a Ferris Wheel-side bar, serving bellinis, daquiris, mojitos, and some other mouth-watering cocktails. They had some nice chairs with tables set up, looking out to the ocean shore, to enjoy your drinks, and the Ferris Wheel itself also has cushioned seats and a table in each gondola to take your drinks in for the 12-15 minute ride. The view of the never-ending ocean and waves crashing on the shore was truly magical and added something extra special to this years AC trip.
Finding this hidden spot on the AC pier was so exciting, and I am already looking forward to going back again next summer and enjoying it with my family once again (or maybe sooner)!
Hope you get to visit this spot soon!
Xoxo,
Steph
