It was a Thursday night in July, and I just found out I didn't need to go to work the next day, which meant I finally had a day off. Not wanting to waste the day, I remembered my sister showing me a TikTok of two girls waking up early in the morning (like really early) and driving down to the beach to see the sunrise, so I asked my sister if she wanted to do it.
She said yes, we planned the day, and I set my alarm for 3:15 am. (Yikes)
The next morning (or still night, I don't know), I woke up at 3:05 am, even before my alarm went off. We got ready, ordered and picked up Dunkin On The Go, and quickly headed on our adventure.
Racing to beat the sun down the parkway, we were so scared we were going to miss the sunrise or not see anything at all due to clouds- then we would've woken up early for nothing. Luckily, we made it to Long Branch beach, parked in the very first spot, plopped our stuff down on the sand, and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise for almost an hour.
It was AMAZING, and I would totally do it again.
...and of course we had to get bagels afterwards in Belmar and make a whole beach day out of it! We plopped our stuff on the sand again, I blogged for a little, and we had ourselves a nice little adventure that we will be sure to do again next summer.
