I finally graduated college, and I will officially be home for a while- or until I get a big girl job and can pay off my loans and rent. With that being said, I should at least try and enjoy the room I'm living in, right?
Living at school, I didn't really care what my home bedroom looked like, as long as it was neat, organized, and somewhat cute. Now, knowing that I am nowhere near living on my own, I knew it was time to re-do my room.
While it was a little pricey and hard to get a vision together of what I wanted, here are a few tips to help you get your dream room!
Less is better- Don't try to keep everything and anything on display. It's okay to box up the little knick-knacks and store them in a box under your bed or in the closet.
Stick to neutral colors and make sure things match- It is easier to have a neutral-colored wall, same-colored doors and furniture, and neutral bedding so that your room is not all over the place.
Spruce up on your DIY crafting skills- This saves you lots of money and there are a lot of cute ideas out there.
The more pillows, the better- As long as you have the room to store them. You don't want to overcrowd the room.
An accent chair is a nice addition- Plop a throw pillow and blanket on it and call it a day.
Got to have your #WorkFromHome desk set up and organized (with a candle of course) to de-stress while you're working.
Standing some books between a wine bottle and flowers, or a candle or other sturdy knick-knack, is the perfect and simple decor for any side-table.
Add a plant hanger to your wall. (Buy or create your own DIY one to save money like I did)
Try to store any essential items in your drawers, closets, bathroom, under the bed, etc. so that your room looks neat and put together. (Makeup, clothes, toiletries, chargers)
Overall, be creative, try different things, and see what you like best!
Get designing!
Xoxo,
Steph
