Welcome Winter Fashion Trends!

Dec 23, 2020
3 min read

In honor of Winter kicking off this week, I've decided to share some outfit inspo for the chilly holiday season. From bundling up with layers to having a staple outfit piece, there are many new (and old) trends that are going to be quite popular in Winter 2021. Below I have included some trends to look out for, as well as links crediting all the images and stores the clothes are from that I have included.

Let's take a look at some of these trends!

1. Leather Everything

Leather never really went away, but it is very popular right now. Leather pants are especially trending right now, both in black and brown color, and different styles, like leggings, cropped pants, joggers, and more. It gives you a really sleek look...and a plus, they keep you extra warm, a staple material for the Winter.

2. Sweater Vests Are Back

Sweater vests are one of many old trends that are coming back in style. You can pair it with jeans or a skirt on top of a sweater or blouse, and you will have a perfect outfit ready to go. There's so many different styles, colors, and patterns to choose from. If the vest is long enough, you can wear it as a dress with a long blouse under it as well, with knee-high boots.I asked for a sweater vest for Christmas, and I can't wait.

3. Layers, Layers, And More Layers

Just because it's cold outside, it doesn't mean you can't dress cute. There is an easy way to dress nice, but still keep warm and not torture yourself in the cold weather. Just think about it, whatever you can't see, doesn't hurt to wear. Wear a shirt under your shirt, wear leggings under your jeans (if they don't have holes), wear two pairs os socks, etc. I would also invest in a big heavy coat, whether it's a puffer coat, long-patterned pea coat, or leather jacket, that will keep you warm and stylish, same with hats and scarves as well.

4. A Matching Set

I am not going to go into this too much, mostly because I plan on doing a whole other blog post on it, but I LOVE matching sets. They are one of my weaknesses when it comes to buying clothes. I just love the look of a matching outfit from head to toe, and it is becoming very popular among stores and boutiques. They are so convenient too because you quickly have an outfit planned and just need to add accessories and shoes. It can be a top and pants or short or skirt, which is love.

5. A New Years Eve Dress

You know when you buy a dress or jumpsuit that you absolutely love but have no where to wear it to? New Years Eve is the time. Although the circumstances are a little different this year, New Years Eve celebrations are the perfect excuse to wear your fanciest outfit and no one can say anything about it, and if they do, who cares? Even though we aren't really going out this year, who says you can't still dress up while at home and feel good about yourself and what you're wearing.

6. Baggy Is (Sometimes) Better

Sometimes baggy is just better than tight. Don't get me wrong, I love a good tight, fitted dress or leather pants here and there, but what I also love is feeling comfortable and relaxed in the outfit I'm wearing without having to worry about how I look in it. I love wearing oversized t-shirts or sweatshirts with baggy jeans and boots. I feel good and look good, and that is the goal.

7. Don't Forget The Accessories

Your outfit doesn't just stop with your clothes. There are tons of accessories that you can, and should wear, to enhance and totally change your outfit. Accessories such as chain necklaces, hats, chunky earrings, and headbands can complete an outfit. They are so fun to wear and can help dress up any outfit.

8. Make A Statement

If you are simply just having a hard time putting an outfit together, just try to have at least one staple piece. It can be from any of the trends mentioned above. Just try for something that will attract someones attention instantly from your outfit. It can be a fedora hight, sleek white tall boots, gold, chunky hoop earrings, jeans with cute patches, or a bold color.
